Smart Grid & Power IT
India’s Ministry of Power describes its vision for smart grid as “Transform the Indian power sector into a secure, adaptive, sustainable and digitally enabled ecosystem that provides reliable and quality energy for all with active participation of stakeholders”. And our mission, inspired by the ministry’s vision, is to be enablers of smart grid technology for all the sectors, industries and cities in our country. Our Smart Grid & Power IT team is involved in various research and development initiatives aimed at making electricity distribution & consumption smarter.
Categories
Meters
Our range of Electricity Meters are primarily aimed at empowering the power utility companies with technologies that not only reduce errors due to manual interventions but also enable them in tracking power thefts & pilferages thus directly contributing to the revenues of the power utility company. It can be rightly said that our meters thus play a crucial role in enabling smart grid technology.
Relays
The Protection Relays play a vital role in electrical energy distribution network. It is responsible for a reliable and secured distribution system and enables the protection of the switching equipments and other critical elements which are in-turn responsible for an uninterrupted electricity supply. Relays abridge the damages in the distribution system and can thus reduce or avoid catastrophic failures.
AMR Solutions
STELMEC clearly understands the market requirement and the pain areas of the power utility companies in areas of revenue protection. Through our RF solution for meters, customers can download data automatically enabling the power utility companies to reduce the manual intervention in the billing data and monitor the meter reading in real time while also reducing the cost of meter reading nominally.
Fault Passage Indicator (FPI)
The Stelmec’s SFPI31 (Indicator) & DCU F1 (Data Concentrator Unit), Remote overhead fault indicator (RFI) monitors the overhead electricity lines in LV, MV power distribution networks. High accuracy current sensors in the SFPI 31, monitors the phase current & upon detecting current level exceeding the user-selected threshold (as a result of a P-P or P-E fault) sends the fault message to the DCU.
